Hera Systems is working with Aerojet Rocketdyne to incorporate its Aerojet MPS-121/131 modular propulsion system into Hera Systems’ new-generation 1HOPSat nanosat ISR platform. The 2U MPS-121 (hydrazine) and MPS-131 (green monopropellant) design is the first 3D-printed integrated propulsion system, and offers highly reliable, high thrust and high delta-V propulsion, designed to fit within 1HOPSat’s 16U form factor. These units provide high performance agility and long-term orbit maintenance. Aerojet Rocketdyne has a unique heritage in propulsion systems, and this latest capability, signals their ability to support CubeSat missions not previously viable. The MPS-121/131 propulsion system enables 3-5 year VLEO mission life for Hera Systems’ 1HOPSat.
