Overview

Hera Systems is a San Jose, California-based satellite information and analytics company that collects images of the Earth every day, enabling organizations to monitor change and make smart decisions about any location on the globe.

What

In 2017, Hera Systems will commence launches towards a constellation of sub-meter resolution satellites that will deliver fresh, daily imagery and video of the Earth, as well as intelligent analytics and derived information products. As market demand grows, Hera Systems will expand its constellation to include 48 satellites in order to provide near-hourly updates. The company’s products for enterprises will be made available “self-service” style via its GeoSnap™ app  supported on a variety of platforms (including mobile devices, smart phones and tablets), delivered in a variety of formats and imaging modes, and configured according to customers’ specific technical data needs.

In addition to its 1-meter class satellites, Hera Systems’ future-generation systems will feature ultra-high resolution imaging capabilities and other advanced technologies. The first of those satellites will launch in 2018.

Key Leadership

Hera Systems was founded in 2013 in San Jose, California by Bobby Machinski, CEO; Dave Squires, vice president of space systems; and Satish Chetty, vice president of software engineering. Joe Thurgood is vice president of corporate development and marketing. Each brings to the company an average of 20 years of experience in related aerospace, technology and engineering fields.
